Funding for Three and Four Year Olds

Once children are three years old they are entitled to a certain amount of free education through the Nursery Education Grant.

Joyland Nursery

From the term after your child’s 3rd birthday you will be given a certificate to complete, each term, in order for us to claim your Nursery Education Grant funding. The free funded sessions are 9.15 a.m. -11.45 a.m. and 12.30 p.m.-3.00 p.m. Priority is given to children who need longer sessions. These children pay £2.31 for the extra half hour, plus any other charges for any other booked sessions.

Strawberry Hill and Poets Corner Nursery

From the term after your child’s 3rd birthday you will be given a certificate to complete, each term, in order for us to claim your Nursery Education Grant funding. The free funded sessions are 9.15 a.m. - 11.45 a.m. and 1.30 p.m. - 4.00 p.m. Priority is given to children who need longer sessions. For these children £7.94 per session, for up to 5 sessions per week, for 38 weeks each year will be refunded to your total bill. The amounts are spread over the whole year to make budgeting easier for you. They appear as ‘Funding’ on your monthly invoice.

If you wish to use solely the free sessions, and we have no spaces available, we recommend you contact the Childcare Information Service, on 293545 to find your nearest provider. This will usually be a school or Children’s Centre for term times only.
