Strawberry Hill employs a team of qualified and experienced childcare practitioners, all holding paediatric first aid certificates. The team has been chosen carefully not just for their skills but also their passion for working with young children. Many of the team are parents themselves and have a clear and personal understanding of child settling, attachment and development. Strawberry Hill promotes forging strong community links that encourage children to understand their world.
Our nursery is mostly on one level, offering children the opportunity to ‘free flow’ into our secret garden. Our garden is a safe and secure environment where children can play, explore, plant, dig and socialise together. The garden is another room, where all of our indoor activities are also enjoyed.
Meal times are very important to us at Strawberry Hill. This is a time for children to come together and enjoy a healthy nutritious meal. We encourage meal times to be a social occasion, where children can chat to each other, older children help serve and everyone learns the importance of family meal times together.
Parents are a valued part of life at Strawberry Hill. We strive to establish great relationships with families. From individual routines, cultures, languages and events where families can feel valued and part of nursery life, even in the midst of busy lives.
Monthly newsletters, feedback from the team and daily communication diaries are some of the ways we want to help parents feel part of Strawberry Hill. Our key person system means that a strong relationship is formed from the start with not just your child but parents too. This journey is continuous until transitioning to school.
Parents’ evenings, social events throughout the year and outings too are all ways in which parents can feel they are part of the Strawberry Hill family. We value our parents’ opinions and want to evaluate our practice and how the nursery can improve. We regularly carry out on-line surveys to listen to parents’ voice.
